This year brings over 200 exhibitors to the show, offering assistance and expert  advice in the areas of building management, maintenance, insurance, security,  energy and countless other services. Attendees will also be able to choose from  among an exciting lineup of informational seminars of great interest to condo  owners and administrators alike. Also the time has been changed to 11:30 a.m.  to 7:30 p.m. to allow busy professionals to take time out of their daily  routines to enjoy the show to the fullest.

More Than Just a Trade Show

While it does include scores of vendor booths and demos, The New Jersey Cooperator’sCondo, HOA & Co-op Expo is really more than just another trade show. The event offers  members of the residential real estate community a chance to interact and  network with HOA and condo board members, residents, vendors and service  providers from many diverse industries and disciplines. The seminar roster  begins at noon, when National Condo Advisors, LLC will present "New Rules, New  Headaches: Cutting Through Bureaucratic Red Tape." Company president Orest Tomaselli will  discuss the new rules and processes required for condominium project approval  and financing through both the Federal Housing Administration and Fannie Mae.  Come learn how the services National Condo Advisors, LLC provides to builders,  developers, lenders, investors, and homeowners’ associations can streamline this process to ensure both financing for  condominium purchasers and the success of these developments.

At 1:30, Lawrenceville-based law firm Stark & Stark will present "Legal and Legislative Update: Important Decisions, New  Laws, and How They Impact Your HOA." Attorneys David J. Byrne, A. Christopher  Florio and Donald B. Brenner will discuss precedent-setting legal decisions, as  well as new and proposed legislation and its impact on New Jersey's condominium  and homeowner associations.

At 3:00, a panel of landscaping professionals including Alan Milstein of Live  Oak Landscaping, Aaron Kurdyla of HighTech Landscapes, and Steven Jomides of  Lawns by Yorkshire will discuss "Landscaping for Year-Round Beauty," examining  planting and maintenance schedules for HOAs, discussing various landscaping  elements throughout the year and season by season. Come learn from the pros how  to keep your community spruced up and looking its best.

Finally, at 5:30, a panel of management professionals including Paul Santoriello  of Taylor Management, Michael Cervelli of Cervelli Management, Bonnie Bertan of  Association Advisors and moderator J. David Ramsey of the law firm of Greenbaum  Rowe Smith & Davis, LLP will present "Manager Performance: Evaluating, Cooperating,  Improving," which will ask the question, What makes a good property manager and  how one can get the most out of the board/manager/resident relationship.

Each seminar at this year’s Expo will run around an hour in length, giving you enough time between talks  to check out the booths on the exhibit floor and enjoy the show’s other attractions.

 Ask Away

If you'd prefer to go straight to the source with your association-related  question, you can drop by the show’s free advice booths and ask a professional face-to-face. In between seminars,  booth visits, and advice booths, the Expo will also offer a food court with  plenty of seating, and a cyber cafe for those wishing to check email, sports  scores, the latest news or even the weather. And of course, no Expo would be  complete without giveaways. This year features a new Reserve Fund prize  giveaway, courtesy of  The New Jersey Cooperatorand Yale Robbins, Inc. One attendee will win a $2,500 contribution to their  building or association's reserve fund. The winner will be drawn at random  after registration has closed, and a check for the winnings will be made  payable to the winner’s building care of their management company.
